Scorpion Part II

Voyager and the Borg form an uneasy alliance against Species 8472...

* "Don't worry, I'll delete myself at the first sign of trouble. Well, maybe not the first sign." (64k)

The Gift

Seven's implants are removed and Kes leaves the crew...

* Perhaps she's experiencing an after-effect of some kind. "A reasonable diagnosis, for a security officer." (61k)

* "If you think there's a risk, Mr. Tuvok, you can throw one of your little force fields around the chamber." A prudent security measure, for a doctor. (84k)

* "If a patient told me not to treat them, even if the situation were life-threatening, I would be ethically obligated to honor that request." (77k)

* "Now that the Borg implants are being excised, your human systems are free to thrive. And thriving they are." (61k)

* "Fashion, of course, is hardly my forte. Nevertheless, I've managed to balance functionality and aesthetics in a pleasing enough manner." (79k)

* "I also took the liberty of stimulating your hair follicles, a vicarious experience for me, as you might imagine. (62k)

Day Of Honor

B'Elanna has a really, really bad day, but finishes it off by admitting to Tom she loves him. The Doctor gets the week off.

Nemesis, Stardate 51082.4

Chakotay gets recruited into someone else's war, and his universal translator sounds like it's on the blink. The Doc is just in the last scene...

* "My guess is the Vori used a combination of mind control techniques, including photometric projections, heightened emotional stimuli, and highly sophisticated psychotropic manipulation." (121k)

* "From the condition of your hypothalamus, I'd say they had you so mixed up, they could have convinced you your own mother was a turnip." (68k)

Revulsion, Stardate 51186.2

The Doctor and B'Elanna try to help an isomorphic projection, until they realize he's unstable...

* What's your name? "I don't have a name. It's a long story." (49k)

* "When I was first activated, I was regarded as little more than a talking tricorder." (41k)

* "I've been known to act a little strangely myself." (27k)

* "I will admit he is somewhat socially inept." Inept? He's a lunatic. "That is hardly a sound medical diagnosis." (72k)

* "Do you recall my own behavior when I was first activated?" How could I forget? You were a major pain in the... "My point is, I too was somewhat alienated from the rest of the crew." (110k)

* "Your pericardium is clean as a whistle, which is more than I can say for my sick bay." (58k)

* "I'm detecting elevated hormonal levels. If you two don't take it easy, I'll have to declare a medical emergency." (57k)

* "Not so fast, Mr. Paris. You are going to help me sterilize every square millimeter of this sick bay." (63k)

* "Just kidding." (9k)

* "A little clutter never hurt anyone." (17k)

* "Sick bay should have a more organic touch, don't you think? To help my patients feel more at home." (62k)

The Raven

Seven tries to return to the Borg, but instead finds the scene of her assimilation...

* "I'll draw up a list of nutritional requirements. Take it to Mr. Neelix in the mess hall. I hesitate to inflict his cooking on you, but it will have to do." (83k)

Scientific Method, Stardate 51244.3

Voyager's crew become lab rats...

* "You're fortunate to have a masseur who can work all day without tiring." (45k)

* "Commander, unless this is an emergency, my patient is unavailable." (33k)

* "Captain." I know what you're going to say, Doctor, but I can't neglect my responsibility. "Actually, I was going to suggest a change of outfit." (65k)

* "A good scientist never jumps to conclusions, Lieutenant, but I'd say it's a distinct possibility." (55k)

* "When Lieutenant Torres and I started making progress in our investigation, we were both incapacitated. Call me paranoid, but I don't think that is a coincidence." (84k)

* "That's one room down, 256 to go." (28k)

* "As if Voyager were one big petri dish." (25k)

The Doctor

Year Of Hell, Stardate 51252.3 - 51682.2

Janeway forgets about Kes's previous warnings and goes up against the Krenim...

* "I'd like to say a few words if I may. I've prepared a speech for this occasion." (46k) - for the new astrometrics lab, the Full Speech is 709k.

* "When I was first activated on stardate 48315, and I found myself mano a mano with the delta quadrant, I didn't think we'd survive a week, let alone three years." (131k)

* "There was strife. There was discord. You were all at each other's throats. (54k)

* "But over time, I've had the pleasure of watching this crew together as colleagues, even friends." (74k)

* "Who would have thought that this eclectic group of voyagers could actually become a family?" (62k)

* "Granted, we've had our share of difficulties." (23k)

* "One might say, we've seen the best of times and the worst of times." (54k)

* "That is the first rule of medical triage, make sure the patient will live then move on to the next one. Emotional detachment is essential, otherwise you risk impairing your judgement." (100k)

* "It's your body. Who am I to judge? I'm only the chief medical officer. What do I know?" (50k)

* "Captain Kathryn Janeway, under Starfleet Medical Regulation 121 Section A, I, the Chief Medical Officer, do hereby relieve you of your active command. Effective immediately." (105k)

* "You realize this incident will be noted in my official logs. By refusing my orders, you risk a general court martial." (75k)

Random Thoughts, Stardate 51367.2

B'Elanna's violent thought infects a telepathic race. The Doctor just shows up at the end...

* "You can return to duty, Lieutenant, though perhaps with one or two fewer violent engrams in that fiery head of yours." It's alright Doc, there are plenty more where those came from. "Duly warned." (112k)

Concerning Flight, Stardate, 51386.4

Voyager gets mugged, stolen property including the Doctor's mobile emitter, and he gets stranded in sick bay...

* "Details, Seven, I want specifics." (26k)

* "Without my mobile emitter, I am a prisoner in here. I need to know what is going on beyond these walls, trivial or not." (58k)

* "Come back whenever you feel like talking. I'll be right here. All by myself." (58k)

Mortal Coil, Stardate 51449.2

Neelix dies and can't handle that he didn't go to "The Great Forest", the afterlife of his people...

* The cadaver has been sufficiently prepared. "And they say I have a lousy bedside manner." (49k)

* Dead? "For eighteen hours, forty-nine minutes, and thirteen seconds. Congratulations, Mr. Neelix, you've just set a new world record." (89k)

Waking Moments, Stardate 51471.3

Aliens who exist in the unconscious world bring Voyager's crew into it...

* "Normally, I consider a good night's sleep an important part of any health regimen, but in this case, I can't recommend it." (71k)

* Where's the Captain? "Asleep, along with the rest of the crew." All of them? "Except me. No rest of the never weary." (77k)

* "Time for a little energy boost, Commander. We don't want you drifting back to sleep." (39k)

* "Sorry about the mess, but this is what happens when my repeated requests for a larger sick bay falls on deaf ears." (59k)

The Doctor and EMH Mark-2

Message In A Bottle

The Doctor is sent to a ship in the Alpha Quadrant, that has been captured by Romulans...

* "When I requested more away missions, this isn't exactly what I had in mind." (46k)

* "Far be it for me to turn down an opportunity to become a hero." (26k)

* "I'm a doctor. Whether my patient is human or Romulan, I'll do everything in my power to save him." (74k)

* "If you disengage your vocal subroutines for one second, I'd explain." (40k)

* "Computer, activate EMH." Please state the nature of the medical emergency. - the Doctor gets to initiate the EMH for once (54k)

* I'm a doctor, not a commando. "It's time you became a little of both." (51k)

* "I'm not sure, not yet. But I've faced my share of challenges, alien invasions, macroviral infestations, I've crossed Borg space, traveled through time. Have you run a self-diagnostic lately? (129k)

* "I assure you I am in perfect health. I was saving Voyager from annihilation when you were only a gleam in your programmer's eye. Now are you going to help me take back this ship or not?" (84k)

* "Refresh my memory. Which of us has the terrible bedside manner?" You're not my patient. "My first bit of good news." (62k)

* "I'm as close to a sentient lifeform as any hologram could hope to be. I socialized with the crew, fraternize with aliens, I've even had sexual relations" Sex? How's that possible? We're not equipped... "Let's just say I made an addition to my program." Before you leave, maybe you could download those subroutines into my database. "We'll see." (253k)

* "That's the first thing you learn in the real world. Think on your feet." (40k)

* "Traditionally, one crawls in head first." - into the Jeffries tube, of course (30k)

* "Paranoia is a way of life for you, isn't it?" (28k)

* That's absurd. This is pointless. "I couldn't agree more." (35k)

* "You know, you really should keep a personal log. Why bore others needlessly?" (40k)

* "Stop breathing down my neck." My breathing is merely a simulation. "So is my neck, stop it anyway." (53k)

* What are they doing? "Firing on us." They must think Romulans are on board. "They're right!" (55k)

* "What are you waiting for? Shoot! Shoot!" There are so many controls. "Find the one that says 'fire' and push it." (86k)

* Specify attack pattern. "Attack pattern alpha?" Specify target. "Romulans!" (79k)

Hunters, Stardate 51501.4

Starfleet sends messages to Voyager, angering the Hirogen again...

* "In fact, if it weren't for me, this transmission wouldn't have been possible in the first place. (51k)

* "I was the one who risked my matrix in order to go to the Alpha Quadrant." (40k)

* "If we ever get home, I expect I'll become quite the hero. Emergency Medical Hologram instrumental in return of Voyager crew. Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?" (130k)

* "I've accomplished things no EMH ever has." (32k)

* "Most likely, I'll become an object of intense study, discussion, possibly even veneration." (60k)

The Doctor and Seven

Prey, Stardate 51652.3

The Hirogen hunt an 8472 left behind, and the Doctor begins giving social lessons to Seven...

* "I created these exercises three years ago to familiarize myself with the social graces. I found that if I repeated them several times each day, the words became almost second nature." (112k)

* "Now, I'll be the nurse, you be the doctor." (14k)

* Did I mention you look lovely today? "Oh doctor, you're so charming." (41k)

* "I know it's awkward. For me it was even painful." (35k)

* "You're a lot like me when I was first activated. If I'd had a mentor, things would have gone a lot more smoothly." (69k)

* "I'm willing to share my wisdom. But if you're not interested, fine." (57k)

* "You should know I'm a hologram and can't be bent, spindled, or mutilated, so don't bother trying." (56k)

* "Please lie down... or remain standing." (60k)

Retrospect

The Doctor becomes ship's counselor when Seven exhibits signs of repressed memories, but later regrets the consequences of his new role...

* "It's a miracle you survived. Now, hold still or this won't heal properly." (42k)

* "When I started helping you improve your social skills, I'm fairly certain I didn't include a boxing lesson." (60k)

* "I understand the burden you carry, constantly being obligated to deal with those who fall short of excellence." (66k)

* "I often find my own patience being tested by someone like Mr. Covin. Of course, I generally respond with a devastating quip rather than a left hook." (94k)

* "We must both accept the fact that very few lifeforms will ever meet our high standards." (50k)

* "When you get irritated, just try to be tolerant and remember, they can't help being what they are." (64k)

* "But in the absence of a ship's counselor, I've been developing a psychiatric subroutine to add to my program. I'll be even more valuable to you than I am now." (83k)

* "How does the tricorder make you feel?" (24k)

* "We're not talking about conjecture. We're talking about science." (28k)

* "You're in perfect health. See you next week." (17k)

* "It's called remorse, Seven. It comes into play when you make a mistake and you feel guilt about what you've done." (98k)

* "I've isolated the algorithms responsible for my desire to expand beyond my original programming. I want to delete them." (91k)

* "It was my urge to experiment, my infatuation with improving myself that led to this tragedy." (77k)

* "I fancied myself a psychologist, a ship's counselor, but I wasn't prepared for the complexities that come with such a responsibility." (89k)

* "In my enthusiasm to help Seven of Nine, I lost my medical objectivity. I became a self-righteous advocate. I didn't stop to think for one second that I might be wrong." (116k)

* "I'm a physician. I'm supposed to preserve life, not destroy it. I can't live with the thought that I might do it again." (116k)

The Doctor and Tuvok

Vis A Vis, Stardate 51762.4

Tom struggles with the tedium of starship life, especially being the Doctor's assistant, then an alien trades places with him...

* What do you think you're doing, Doc? "An impromptu auditory exam." Did I pass? "With flying colors." (63k)

* "Medieval safety constraints, internal combustion system producing lethal levels of carbon monoxide. I stand corrected. This may be just what you need to get you back to sick bay." (163k) - hey, at least there were safety constraints

* "This isn't about fun, Mr. Paris. Serving in sick bay is a privilege. I'd expect you to realize that." (58k)

* "I realized it's complicated, but you must try again." (29k)

* Actually, I'm not feeling so well. "How fortunate you're already in sick bay. I'll run a few scans." (59k)

* "Do you mean to tell me, you've been trying to live up to my standards?" (48k)

* "It all makes sense now. The misplaced aggression, the shirking of responsibilities, all classic signs of an inferiority complex." (111k)

* "I had no idea my superior abilities were affecting your psyche so strongly." (48k)

* "Take the rest of the day off. Reflect on your strengths. Realize your worth." (61k)

* "All in a day's work." (12k)

The Omega Directive, Stardate 51781.2

Sensors detect a particle and Captain Janeway has to keep the facts from the crew...

* "What do you plan to do? Stroll through a supernova?" (26k)

* "Then I'm afraid I can't accommodate you. I'd be in violation of Starfleet medical protocols." (69k)

* "Don't tell me, the Omega Directive, whatever that might be." (44k)

* "Captain, I don't know what's going on here, but I'd hate this to be the last time I ever see you. Please be careful." (70k)

* "Come back in an hour." Unacceptable. "Unavoidable." (32k)

* "This is my sick bay. The man needs to recover." (22k)

Unforgettable, Stardate 51813.4

An alien who was previously on Voyager comes back, but nobody remembers her...

* "When I scan her, the readings won't stay in the database." (32k)

* "Luckily, I'm a master of visual diagnosis." (24k)

* "I'd ask you to monitor her vital signs, but since they aren't registering, I suppose there's no point." (44k)

The Doctor and Quarren

Living Witness, 700 Years in the Future

The Doctor's backup module is found in the ruins of a planet that Voyager was once involved with, and he's reactivated to testify to history...

* "What am I doing in engineering?" (15k)

* "Where's my mobile emitter?" (14k)

* You're not an android. "Of course not. What are you talking about?" (32k)

* "You've stolen my program. How?" Please, let me try to explain. "Try quickly." (71k)

* You're a hologram. "That I know." (30k)

* "Am I some sort of fossil?" (31k)

* Doctor, you could be the most important discovery of all time. (34k) - Quarren sometimes knew what he was talking about

* "What's going to happen to me now? Will you put my on display? The holographic Rip Van Winkle?" (73k)

* "I did nothing of the sort" (15k)

* "Evidence? What evidence?" (13k)

* "Voyager wasn't a warship. We were explorers." Yes, I know, trying to get home to Mars. "Earth! You see, you couldn't even get that right." (89k)

* "This is a nightmare." (13k)

* "You've got to believe me. To you, this may be ancient history. To me, it's yesterday." (69k)

* "Pure fiction. This is absurd." (30k)

* "Somewhere, halfway across the galaxy I hope, Captain Janeway is spinning in her grave." (87k)

* "Obviously events have been reinterpreted to make your people feel better about themselves. Revisionist history, it's such a comfort." (83k)

* "For your information, I don't appreciate being deactivated in the middle of a sentence. It brings back unpleasant memories." (86k)

* "Because if you don't stop treating me like a second class hologram, I won't cooperate with your investigation." (46k)

* "I'm perfectly happy to lie dormant in that data module for a few eons." (36k)

* "I never meant to throw your beliefs into doubt, but I can't deny what I know to be true." (55k)

* "Well, the stage is certainly set, but I'll have to rewrite the characters, and revise the plot a little." (92k)

* "I'm quite adept in the art of holographic programming." (25k)

* Your crew is heroic, Captain. "I just happen to be invulnerable to phaser fire, but I appreciate the compliment." (47k)

* "I'm a medical hologram, programmed to do no harm, but I'm doing harm on a global scale." (64k)

* "Facts be damned! Names, dates, places." (41k)

* "And ultimately, what difference does it make?" (26k)

Hope And Fear, Stardate 51978.2

An alien hitches a ride, deciphers Starfleet's message from five months earlier, but has ulterior motives. The Doctor is only in one scene...

* "That little joyride didn't harm them in the slightest." (25k)

* "I'm running the medical projections right now. So far, the results are encouraging." (48k)
